Be the rainbow you want to see in the world

every-colorSometimes it’s hard to see the beauty and the good in the world around us.  Remembering the bigger world around us can be tough when we feel limited by what we can change, either because you’re a child who can’t just change your life, or because you’re an adult who doesn’t think you can just set out on international travel expeditions to exotic locations when you haven’t paid your light bill.

Polar Bear is in a tough spot, too, one that seems to offer little diversity – white, white, more white.  Then a little girl sends him a rainbow and arrives on a boat to explore the world.  It’s full of color, a whole rainbow, and not just color, but places like the Eiffel Tower and Taj Majal and Rio de Janeiro and even home.  You could read this book and get more than one message, and you could look at this book and see all kinds of possibilities.  Either way, it’s worth a look or two or three.
